Pink October in Spain in 2019

I had the privilege of joining my surf club in Spain for an event in support of Pink October. During one morning, I assisted in supervising women as they enjoyed a paddleboard ride, as captured in the following photos.

Climate Fresk

One afternoon last year, I had the opportunity to take part in an event hosted by The Climate Fresk NGO. If you're interested in learning more about it, you can find additional information on their website by clicking on the corresponding knob :

"Le Proces de King-Kong", September 2023

At the start of my first academic year, I had the opportunity to witness a three-hour play addressing the critical issues of sexist and sexual violence towards women, along with theme of discrimination. The production comprised four distinct acts, each depicting scenarios where inappropriate behaviours or even crimes occurred during integration scenes. Following each act, an interactive debate was held with the scriptwriter, who was part of the show, to deepen our awareness of these crucial topics.

This performance further heightened my awareness of the tragic and intolerable situations that young women continue to endure in our society.

Entrepreneurship Initiation Day

During the first semester of my inaugural year at engineering school, I had the privilege of participating in an entrepreneurship initiation day. The format of this training involved dividing us into groups of eight to ten individuals. Our task was to collectively brainstorm and generate an innovative idea for creating a startup. We were given the entire day to conceive a compelling idea and prepare a pitch to persuade a jury about the viability of our project.

In our group, we decided to focus on an AI technology that sorts trash into recyclable and non-recyclable categories. Additionally, we proposed an app that aids people in identifying which bin they placed their trash in by scanning it with their phones. This experience proved to be rewarding as it not only showcased how we could apply our scientific skills but also helped us develop soft skills that are crucial in the professional world, including communication, teamwork, and pitching abilities.

Civic Engagement Proposal

I am delighted to introduce a civic engagement proposal that our group of eight has developed during our recent Career Management course during the second semester of last year. This project aligns with several of the seventeen UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals, and we have highlighted seven of them on our poster. Additionally, we had the opportunity to present our civic engagement proposal through a ten-minute pitch in front of our promotion.

2 Tonnes Workshop

2 Tonnes Workshop

Two tonnes—arguably the greatest challenge of our century. But “two tonnes of what?” you might ask. The answer is found within the Paris Agreement, adopted at COP21 in December 2015. This figure represents the average carbon footprint per person that we must achieve by 2050, as stipulated by the Paris Agreement. While this target might seem modest, it is crucial for preventing a point of no return for our climate and the severe consequences that could follow. I learned this, along with the related challenging objectives we must face in the future, during the 2 Tonnes workshop I attended. The movie Low-Tech by Adrian Bellay

As the French philosopher Henri Bergson once wrote in L'Evolution Creatrice “L’homme n’est pas d’abord un ‘homo sapiens’ mais un ‘homo faber’.” This quote emphasizes that what sets humans apart from other animals is not only our capacity to think but also our technical skills. Technology is an essential trait of human nature, as evidenced by countless technical revolutions and discoveries throughout history. Examples include the mastery of metallurgy and writing, the invention of the printing press and steam engines, and more recently, the rise of the Internet and the AI revolution.

However, what if technological progress is not as beneficial as it seems? What if current technologies demand more raw materials than the Earth can sustainably provide? And what if we are living beyond our actual consumption needs? These are some of the critical questions raised in the film Low-Tech by Adrian Bellay, which aims to heighten our awareness of the impact of technological advancement.
